FirstSearch/WorldCat problems, 3/19/07

OCLC Networking problems are affecting all of their services today, 3/19/07.

Affected services include all FirstSearch databases (including WorldCat), the OCLC Collection Analysis system, and the ILL/Resource Sharing module. OCLC is commiting all resources to resolving their system issues.

We apologize for the inconvenience due to this service interruption.

Service interrupts on Alexander Street sources, 3/18/07

We have received the following alert from ASP:
"As a valued customer of Alexander Street Press, we are sending this
notification to inform you that you may experience interruptions in
access to your subscriptions on Sunday March 18, 2007.

We are in the process of making make critical enhancements to our
technical infrastructure that will enhance our ability to better serve
your organization and your patrons moving forward. "

(Affected databases include: American Civil War Letters & Diaries, Black Drama, Godey's Lady's Book, Latin American Women Writers, North American Women's Letters & Diaries, and Women & Social Movements in the United States)

Fondren Library's scheduled maintenance of our online catalog has been deferred, pending vendor availability.

We will advise, with as much notice as possible, when the necessary downtime is rescheduled.

IEEE Xplore scheduled downtime, 3/09/07

"We are writing to inform you that an upgrade of the IEEE Xplore Digital Library is scheduled for Friday, 9 March. During this deployment, the system will be unavailable for up to three hours beginning at 2:00pm EST. (1pm-4pm Houston time)

ScienceDirect daylight saving downtime, 3/11/07

"This message is to inform you that ScienceDirect (but not Scopus) will be unavailable for a planned period of downtime on Sunday, March 11, 2007 for approximately 7 hours starting at 01:00 AM EST (12:00 midnight).
