"Please be advised, ARTstor will be performing temporary maintenance this Saturday evening, February 27th, into Sunday morning, February 28th, between the hours of 6:00 PM and midnight CST. During this time, service will be intermittently interrupted. We anticipate full service to return by midnight.

SciFinder Scholar moves to web!

Fondren Library is changing access to SciFinder Scholar to a web version. The web version has the following advantages:

- no downloading required of SciFinder and VPN client software.
- remote authentication is now possible using your NetID username and password after clicking on the web link.

A personal Rice login is required to access the web version of SciFinder Scholar.

Please go to the SciFinder library page at http://library.rice.edu/collections/eresources/scifinder-scholar/ at your earliest convenience and contact the SciFinder site administrator to register your personal Rice login.

The migration deadline is March 31. During this period the 3 SciFinder seats will be moved gradually from the client version to the web version. We thank you for your patience if you encounter unusual busy times with SciFinder Scholar during this transition period.

Description:
OCLC is experiencing problems with several services at this time. We are working to identify them. We will update this message as we have more information and we apologize for the inconvenience this causes.

Chinese Academic Journals offline, 2/6/10 10-11pm

Just in from Eastview:

"East View's website and online databases will be inaccessible due to routine maintenance by our Internet service provider on Saturday, February 6, from 10pm - 11pm Central Time."

This will affect the China Academic Journals Full-text Database (current and retrospective).

Ulrichs offline, 2/5 10pm-midnight

Users will not be able to login or access Ulrichsweb 8:00 pm to midnight CST on Friday, February 5 , and may also experience intermittent site slowness for a period after service restarts. Regular service will be restored by 3:00 AM CST on Saturday, February 6.

This system downtime will allow us to put a series of enhancements into production.
